Home Siding Repair & Installations in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

One of the most important elements of protecting the structure and integrity of your home is siding. But because all structures are exposed to the elements, this protection can’t last forever. Both time and the

extreme weather conditions that occur in the Dallas-Fort Worth area can fade, crack, and cause warping or buckling. Damaged siding is not only an eyesore, but can lead to a number of problems, including

mold, poor insulation, and even structural issues.

It’s imperative to keep your siding in good condition, and replace as necessary. Furthermore, these kinds of repairs should only be done by trusted professionals like the siding contractors found at AmeriConstruction.

Types of Siding We Install & Replace

There is a large variety of siding available on the market, and it’s worth looking into all of them to decide which one will work best for your home. If you are unsure, it’s always worth talking to your siding contractors before having anything installed. They can give you extra insight based on the needs of your home or business.

Vinyl Siding

Vinyl siding is one of the most popular kinds of siding for homeowners. It comes in a large variety of color and style options, and is an excellent value. Although it is the least expensive type of siding, it is extremely durable, environmentally friendly, and energy efficient. Vinyl siding offers insulation that can save up to 20% on your energy bill after installation.

Maintenance is also very simple. Vinyl siding can be kept attractive with a simple wash of soap and water (though you’ll want to avoid pressure washing). It’s best to trust the installation of vinyl siding to experts. Water intrusion can be a real problem with vinyl siding, and this can be prevented by using trusted professional contractors like the ones found at AmeriConstruction.

Wood Or Engineered Wood Siding

Wood siding can come in a number of materials, from natural cedar wood shingles to engineered wood planks. Natural wood siding is beautiful and very durable, but also high maintenance. It can be warped by moisture, faded and cracked by the sun, or invaded by pests. If you choose wood siding, you will have to pay more at the outset as well as staying vigilant about maintaining the integrity. This can be done through painting and sealing your siding, and quickly replacing damaged areas.

Engineered wood is a good alternative if you like the look of wood siding but want something that requires less maintenance. It is also quite energy efficient. It is less expensive than real wood siding, but can range a bit higher than other options.

Metal Siding

Often used to create a modern look in a home, and quite popular in the commercial sector, metal siding is also extremely energy efficient. It is durable, as well–galvanized steel protects the siding from most any damage. However, those who live near the ocean may want to avoid it as salt water spray can cause rust.

Fiber Cement Siding | Composite Siding

Also known as composite siding, this siding is made from a combination of cement, water, fibers, and sand. It is versatile in appearance, and can be formed and painted to match any decor. It is both durable and low maintenance, but is not as energy efficient as other siding options.

Traditional Stucco

Traditional stucco siding starts as a paste comprised of cement, ground limestone, sand, and water, which dries into a rocky layer. When dried, traditional stucco is a rustic, classic look with lots of customization options. While less energy efficient than other synthetic options, it won’t bend or warp when a hot summer rolls around. In colder climates, repeated freezing and thawing outside can cause traditional stucco to crack.

EIFS (Synthetic Stucco) Siding

Made from acrylic and applied in layers, synthetic stucco is 80% lighter and significantly more durable than traditional stucco. Synthetic stucco has an R-value of between 4 and 5.6, making it better at resisting heat flow than most other building materials. Because EIFS stucco is more complicated to produce and install, it’s typically about 20% more expensive to install than traditional stucco.

Brick Or Stone Imitation Siding

This siding is made to look like the real thing, and is a great alternative that is less pricey for the homeowner. Not to mention that some structures simply can’t handle the weight of stone and brick. This siding gives you the look and also offers good durability. On the con side, this siding can be a bit more expensive than other kinds, and doesn’t have the best energy efficiency.

Siding is also important for insulation. It keeps your home or business comfortable year-round, while also saving you money on energy bills.

The Process for Home Siding Installation/Repair

Siding installation is a process that generally takes from 10-12 days. Here’s what to expect during the

installation:

Contractors will remove the existing siding, including trim, soffit, or fascia if required.

If there is any damage to the underlying wall, your contractor will repair it (this includes water

damage, rot, or a need for sheathing repair).

The siding team will then wrap windows and doors to protect them from water damage after

the repairs are completed.

Addition of insulation as needed.

The final step: contractors install your new siding. They may also paint it if the siding requires it.
